Start Your Business in Dubai
Starting a business in Dubai is becoming quicker and easier than ever, in line with the vision of the Department of Economic Development (DED) in Dubai to help business owners launch and expand their operations without the need for lengthy processes and administration.
Broadly, there are two jurisdictions in Dubai for conducting business: Dubai “mainland” on one hand, and more than 20 economic free zones in Dubai on the other hand. Mainland and free zones offer different advantages depending on your business type and activities.

Renewing your business license consists of three steps:
STEP 1 Ensure the validity of your tenancy contract
- At the time of renewing your business license, your tenancy contract must be valid.
- Should your tenancy contract require renewing, please ensure that it is attested by the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Ejari).
STEP 2 Collect activity-specific licensing approv als (if required)

STEP 3 Apply for license renewal
Now that you have completed the steps above, you need to submit the required documents through various approved application channels: With the aim of providing a high standard of customer service, DED has launched the Auto Renew service. Send an SMS with your license number to 6969. Renewal Fees will be generated automatically and a payment voucher will be sent to the mobile number. Customer can pay online or offline through authenticated payment channels. DED will send a copy of the renewed license to the customer through SMS and registered email address.
